1. WEDNESDAY LUNCH is at the Blum Food Court from 11-1ish. Bring a friend and come on out for some fun around the lunch table!

2. MOMENTUM Worship Gathering & Coffee House also starts back up this THURSDAY @ 7pm. Plan to come early and/or stay late for food (sandwiches, finger foods, cookies, etc) and good times with friends!

Hope you’ll consider joining us on a Thursday night for BSU’s Large Group Worship Gathering!  It’s always a great way to unwind a bit from a busy week.  Don’t eat too big of a supper though, because you can always come early or stay late for Sandwiches, Snacks, Desserts, Coffee, Tea, Lemonade, etc.  We’re also serving up free lattes, mochas, hot chocolate, etc!  Of course, 7pm is a time for worshipping our Awesome God and hearing relevant teaching from God’s Word.

Oops, I almost forgot to mention SCUM….the crazy game around the pool table we play every week.  Come see what it’s all about!

Crazy Love Book Study

Hey, some of us at the BSU are pretty excited about the book, Crazy Love by Francis Chan. Whether you’ve read the book before or not, one of the best ways to process the book and apply God’s truth to your life is to study the concepts of the book with other people.  We’re excited to offer two different times for this study so far:

Gals Book Study – 5pm Tuesdays @ the Food Court in Blum Union

Guys Book Study – 7pm Wednesdays @ upstairs at the BSU

NEWS FLASH – MOMENTUM to start at 8pm THIS WEEK ONLY!

Hey! Since this Thursday night is the MWSU football v. Lincoln game at 6pm, we’ve decided to start MOMENTUM a little late to allow you to go to at least part of the game and still come over to the BSU. Worship & Bible Study will start at 8:00, but even if you stay for the entire game, we’ll still be hanging out, eating snacks, drinking lattes, and probably playing SCUM around the pool table. SO, come late!  The gist of the story:

Chasing Daylight

Ever feel like there’s just too much to do and not enough time?  Now that you’re into a new semester of classes, I’m sure it’s tempting to just crack the books and be a hermit in your room, right?  Who are we kidding!  You want to meet as many people as you can and find a place on this campus!  Here’s a couple of ideas….MAKE SURE YOU READ TO THE BOTTOM…=)

WEDNESDAY LUNCH – 11:30-1:00 or so at the Food Court!  Look for us in the big corner booth or at a row of long tables somewhere in the middle.

MOMENTUM Coffee House & Worship Gathering (a.k.a. “Coffee & Jesus”) – 8 PM Thursday @ the BSU House (4534 Mitchell Ave., right across from the main entrance to campus).  Come early or stay late for sandwiches and finger foods.  Play a lively game of SCUM around the pool table or just chill with friends!

FRIDAY Night Game Night @ Paul & Jala’s place - 9/10/10 – 7pm until midnight or so! And we’re not talking about ordinary boring games here!  Jala says she might be convinced to make skillet cookies…..what are those?  Come and find out!  Meet up at the BSU to carpool (a little before 7) to Paul & Jala’s house (it’s just 5 mins from campus) or call Paul for directions: 262-6991.

MONDAY – Western Warm up Fair by the Clock Tower.  Stop by our booth to mingle with cool BSU kids and grab some free candy & pens.  You can also help us with this year’s survey questions….oh yeah!

SPOONS Tournament! – 5pm MONDAY, 8/30/10 @ BLUM Union in the wide open space by the cafeteria and bookstore.  BTW, spoons is a very interactive card game so come with your sleeves rolled up!  A new tradition?

Wednesday Lunch – Now at the BLUM Food Court. 11:30-1:00 or so.  Grab a bite to eat from the food court (or even bring your own lunch if necessary) and join us each Wednesday!

2nd Annual MUD VOLLEYBALL w/ other Christian Campus Groups!
WHEN:  4-8 pm
WHERE:  back behind the BSU (4534 Mitchell Ave.)
WHAT:  Cookout, Ice Cream, Mud Volleyball Tournament, and more!
WHY:  Because it’s the first week and mud makes introductions so fun!
WHO:  ANY MWSU STUDENTS, Staff, etc.!

Get ready to get muddy!  Bring a team or come join a pick up team on the spot!

FOOTBALL TAILGATE - THURSDAY – MWSU v. Mesa State – Come Tailgate with us from 4-5:30 and then join us to head on over to the game! The first regular Thursday night Momentum Coffee House & Worship Gathering begins on Sept. 9th.

A week of Preparations! Hop on Board!

1. If you’re signed up to help with Griffon Greeters tomorrow, thanks so much! Sounds like it may be a cooler day too! I’m walking over to campus at 8:45 in the morning.

2. At noon tomorrow, we’re partnering with CCF to provide lunch for the marching band. Just heard about this cool opportunity. If you’re helping with move-in…this means lunch is taken care of for you!! If you’re interested in mingling with us and serving the band, join us around 11:30 at the practice field back behind the residence halls.

3. WORK DAY! This THURSDAY! I’m working on what seems to be an ever-growing to-do list this week, and I’d love some help if you’ve got time! A little painting. A little yard work. Some cleaning/organizing. Maybe steam cleaning carpets. Helping get things ready for the Griffon Edge Fair. And much more! 9-?

4. LAST SUMMER BIBLE STUDY – THURSDAY…7pm @ the BSU. Prayer. Conversation. Bible Study. Jesus. =)

5. FRIDAY – GRIFFON EDGE FAIR – 11-12:30 in Looney. Help us get set up beginning around 10:30 or just swing by sometime to help us meet and greet!

6. FRIDAY – CHIEFS GAME –> it’s not entirely too late to get a ticket. They tell me I can add tickets up until Thursday, but LET ME KNOW ASAP. As of right now, we’re at 19 going! http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=107450752646020
